Q: Are polishes without these ingredients as good?
The answer to this question might not be a definite one since it can be somewhat of a trial and error situation. Some brands have been making these kinds of nail polish for quite some time and therefore deliver great formulas time after time. On the other hand, there are other brands that are just making the switch to changing their formulas in order to remove these chemicals and thus, they might not get their lacquers to turn out that great. The best thing you can do, is try out different options to see which is the best one for you.
Q: Should I be worried if I use nail polish that is not 3 or 5 free?
Like I mentioned in the first part, most of these chemicals turn out to be harmful in large quantities and prolonged exposure. None the less, I would take into consideration the following situations and not use nail polish containing those chemicals (better be safe than sorry): young children, women that are pregnant or nursing, and people with sensitive skin and allergies. Other than that, I think that using them once in a while should be ok.

¿Los esmaltes sin estos químicos son igual de buenos?
La respuesta a esta pregunta podría no ser una definitiva, ya que puede ser una situación de prueba y error. Algunas marcas han estado haciendo este tipo de esmalte de uñas desde hace bastante tiempo y por lo tanto ofrecen fórmulas muy buenas una y otra vez. Por otro lado, hay otras marcas que acaban de hacer el cambio a modificar sus fórmulas con el fin de eliminar estas sustancias químicas y, por tanto, puede ser que no logren que sus esmaltes sean consistentemente buenos. Lo mejor que pueden hacer es probar diferentes opciones para ver cuál es la que les resulta mejor.
¿Debo preocuparme si uso esmalte de uñas que no es 3 o 5 free?
Como mencioné en la primera parte, la mayoría de estos productos químicos resultan ser dañinos en grandes cantidades y una exposición prolongada a ellos. No obstante, tomaría en cuenta las siguientes situaciones y preferir no usar esmalte de uñas que contengan esas sustancias químicas (mejor prevenir que lamentar): niños pequeños, mujeres que están embarazadas o en lactancia, y personas con piel sensible y alergias. Aparte de eso, creo que el uso de ellos de vez en cuando debería estar bien o suficientemente seguro.
