I made...
This time I made chocolate tres leches. A spin on a normal tres leches, a popular dessert here in El Salvador as well as in the rest of Latin America. A tres leches dessert is basically a sponge cake soaked with evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk, hence its name (three milks); and covered with some frosting and cinnamon. Super light, moist and delicious.
My take on this dessert came up because a girl in college asked me if I could make a chocolate tres leches, she needed it for a project for a class. So yeah, I had never made it before but I thought it wouldn't be much different than making the regular version that I think I've mastered ;) In the end I made it, added a bit of chocolate to the cake and the milk and this is what it turned out to be.
I could finally taste it when I came back home since they had to see what it looked like whole :'( but all I can say is that it was well worth the wait cause it was delicious!
P.S. I got asked me to make 15 tres leches desserts :D woohoo! Great business.
